Forgotten Blanket to Coat.
There’s something special about giving an old blanket a whole new life.
At Annie’s Blanket Revival, I take beautiful vintage woollen blankets and transform them into unique, wearable coats - pieces that are not only practical and warm, but carry a little bit of history with them.
But the blanket is only part of the story.
I also carefully select vintage and pre-loved sheets, as well as beautiful new fabrics, to become the inner lining of each coat. I spend a lot of time choosing the right fabric for each blanket, making sure the colours, patterns and tones work beautifully together.
I don’t simply choose whatever is available. I look at the colours and character of the blanket and consider what will complement it best. Sometimes the perfect match is a vintage sheet with a beautiful old-fashioned print. Other times, a new fabric is exactly what the coat needs to bring the colours together.
It’s all in the details!
Reviving a blanket takes time and care. I carefully select each blanket, consider how its colours and pattern will work as a coat, and then choose the most suitable fabric for the inside.
The aim is always to make something that feels intentional - not like an old blanket that has simply been cut up and repurposed, but a beautiful coat where every part has been thoughtfully chosen.
I love giving old sheets a second life, but I’m not limited to vintage fabrics. Sometimes a newly purchased fabric is the perfect finishing touch, and I’m happy to use it when it creates the right look, feel and quality for the coat.

The blankets I work with have already lived a life before they reach me. Perhaps they once kept someone warm on a chilly night, were tucked away in a linen cupboard for years, or belonged to a family home long ago.
Now they get to become something completely different.
A coat to wear, love and enjoy for years to come.
